Abstract

Idioms of life constitute a significant part of cultural discourse, serving as narrative instruments through which societies construct shared meanings about success, struggle, and destiny. These idiomatic expressions act as metaphoric frameworks that connect individual experiences to collective cultural memory. They reflect attitudes toward hard work, resilience, fate, and the pursuit of prosperity, thereby influencing how communities interpret social mobility and human destiny. This research argues that idioms of life not only preserve cultural heritage but also function as motivational and interpretive tools that guide individuals in navigating life’s challenges. By analyzing idioms across different cultural contexts, the study reveals the universal yet culturally distinct ways in which societies conceptualize triumph, adversity, and fate.
